Doha (Qatar)

The Capital of Qatar and the largest city of the nation, population wise, Doha is known for many of its sectors and accomplishments. It is known for holing the 2006 Asian Games and is said to host a series of venues for the 2022 Fifa World Cup.

According to the population demographics, Doha hosts many expatriates while the Qatar nationals themselves make up the minority in the area. This is mostly because Doha is the hub of trade and is growing rapidly in technology and other sectors hence attracting many foreign nationals to invest in the area. Climate wise, the city has one of the longest summers in the world however the state provides many forms of cooling agents for its residents such as ventilators and dehumidifiers to provide a cool and comfortable environment overall.

In terms of transport, Doha has recently seen a strong expanding trend in its transportation network with the additional construction of highways, a new airport and also a planned Metro network. This advancement is all due to the ever increasing population of the city which made it necessary for the state to install these networks to lessen the traffic congestions on the roads.

While the road systems are one of the best in the region, the transportation management is always looking for ways to make it even better with passing time. A fully functioning bus system has over taken much of the traffic caused by taxis. You can also book for Doha airport transfers for roaming the city.

Moreover, there is the Doha Metro which is already in construction and it phase1 is said to be open and running by the end of 2019. Other than that, there is also the Gulf railway system under construction that will connect the 6 Arab states of the Gulf Cooperation Council and is said to become fully functioning in 2017.
With rapidly growing population in Doha, the state of Qatar has no choice but to make its transportation system as effective as any in the developed countries of the world. And to reach such a status, it is already on its way with many new projects.
